Where's the best place to live in California?
-
I'm planning to move to California later in the year, and I'm trying to decide the best place to live. I actually took a trip out in the beginning of March to get a feel for the state, and definitely enjoyed Southern California more than Northern (I went along the coast from San Diego to San Francisco). I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to actually move. My plan is to go back out a final time to find a place, but was hoping to get a little advice to narrow down my search. I really enjoyed everything between San Diego and Ventura, which I know is a lot, but I'd like to find somewhere a little less trafficked - any suggestions?

Answer:
It sounds like this gentleman does not have to work. He has pre-inspection time on his hands. That's what is so cool about him. I've driven this coast many times. Lived between San Diego and LA. Been in SoCal for 50 years and I personally like Ventura County the best of all. I've never lived there, but I love the ocean drive with the rocks in the water and the houses on the cliffs and such. Everyone thinks that people who inquire about SoCal are worker bees. Many people are not. They are just looking for a change of scenery and they already have money. This guy just wants some guidance as to where to move. Not where to work. Just listen to his question!

I suggest you find a job before considering to move to California. Trust me! You're going to go through your life savings and STILL not be able to find a job how bad it is here.
Nowhere. Don't move to California if you don't already have a stable job there.

San Fernando Valley! I live in Van Nuys. its abt 45 mins from downtown LA with traffic. And there is a bus here called flyaway that would take me to the airport for a low fee if you fly a lot. It's quiet also here with great palm trees!

go to either San Francisco or San Diego but if for some odd reason you decide to move in or around Los Angeles go to the San Fernando Valley.

I hate to tell you this but just vacationing here is a little different. If you move here, you will quickly learn that you are living in a 3rd world country named mexifornia.
