LA Haunted Hayride vs Thousand Oaks Reign of Terror?

  • Going out with my gf on Friday. Which would you recommend? Reign of Terror is rated higher of the two (some says it's the scariest of all Halloween attractions in SoCal). The only drawback is that it's 30 minutes away from my place, plus I'm not sure if it's worth it to go if I have already been to Universal's Halloween Horror Night this year. Universal's mazes are top-notch, so I don't know if driving back and forth for an hour just to see another maze is worth it. Haunted Hayride is the more well known of the two, and is only 5 minute drive from my place. Generally positive reviews, most say it's a decent scare. I like the secluded nature of its location (L.A. zoo in the griffith park), and there's the carnival aspect to the event (though most say the carnival portion was pretty lame). The main drawback is the cost (Reign of Terror: $13 General, $20 VIP vs Hayride: $35 General, $50 for VIP). For those of you who have been to either one (or both, which would be the best!), can you share your experience for each event and help me select the place to go? Many thanks! P.S I plan to see Saw 3D the same night.

Why post the same question 3 times in the same forum? You think we didn't see it? Or are you just trying to get reported for spam. I haven't been to BOTH, since I really don't go for the whole pay-money-to-get-scared schtick. If I want to get scared, I just look at my voting guide. All the candidates and propositions sell is fear... "If you vote for this (candidate or proposition), then TERRIBLE things will happen, so you must vote against that (candidate or proposition). Once upon a time, candidates and propositions ran on their own merit, not fear or loathing of the opposition. Anyway, enough election banter. Just deal with the drive and go to the Hayride, and stop posting the same question over and over.
