Current water restrictions?

Does Los Angeles lack water and has constant water restrictions?

  • Or there is no water restriction and it's full of water?

  • Answer:

There is water all over the place to the south and west of the city. Unfortunately, it's too salty to drink. The city's fresh water has to come down an aqueduct which runs all the way down from the San Francisco Bay area. So yes, there can be periodic shortages and use restrictions. This is a big reason why I've stayed in Michigan all these years. Got water? We do.

Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink! Pretty much anything in the Southwest has water restrictions. Chinatown is a good fictionalized version of how ruthless the So Cal developers were with getting water. They had promoted this place as a lush green valley. I used to live in Dallas, TX and we would have water restrictions

Los Angeles is in a desert....Water is piped in.

Thirty years ago when Governor "Moonbeam" (Jerry Brown, for all you newbies to the state) was in office, there was water rationing during the drought. The rationing wasn't uniform yet some form of it was happening throughout the state. LA is in a desert. Now that they have sucked the Owens Valley dry, they're going after Arizona's Colorado River water allotment. Fat chance they're gonna get it if they keep wanting to boycott AZ. Screw LA and it's racist mayor.
