Are any parts of Long Beach, California?

Newport Beach or Long Beach California?

  • Tell me which one is better, Long Beach or Newport Beach California. Tell me what it's positive things are and negative things. & how much is Long Beach compared to Newport Beach? Are they different in prices for houses/ apartments. Thanks! & just put in any extra information you think I need to know before moving to either one. thanks again!

    I have lived in Newport for 2 years and have been living in Long beach for 5 years now. I liked living in Newport, but overall the people are stuffy and kind of rude. The police have nothing better to do than harass people for minor traffic violations (got a ticket for turning my turn signal on and changing lanes to quickly). Pros for Newport - Clean, beautiful beaches, lots of stuff to do. Cons- Rude people, VERY expensive to do anything, no parking, all new development track homes packed really, really close together LB pros - Reasonable prices, beautiful homes, a sense of history, nice real people cons - some neighborhoods not the nicest, North Long beach Perfect solution is.........................Belmont Heights! Has the Newport feel and is a lot less expensive and boarders long beach. I would look into moving to Belmont Heights or Belmont Shores. Best of luck!!

Christoper (above me), has no idea what he's talking about... Long beach does have some great place, I will agree with that, but there are many places in long beach that are not the safest! Also long beach has many places that are on the cheaper side for living, that's if you're okay with living in a neighborhood, that's not the safest. And most places in Longbeach don't have parking, meaning you have to park on the street, and pray your car doesn't get broken into. Newport beach, is clean and very pricey. The crime rate is low, there is lots to do, however the rent is very very high. The two city, are apples to oranges.

I live in So Cal. If you like snobs and are filthy rich, Newport Beach. If you like more normal people and a little less expense, Long Beach. Nothing is cheap here,though.

The answer to your question can be summed up using analogies: Newport Beach compared to Long Beach is like: 2007 Mercedes E-Class vs. 1966 Chevy Nova Creme brulee vs. Tastee Freeze vanilla cone Filet Mignon vs. McDonald's cheeseburger Got the picture? Not that there's anything wrong with the latter... In fact, I used to take my '66 Nova down to McDonald's, then to Tastee Freeze for dessert. But you asked for comparisons. Here's another: There are a lot of African Americans in Long Beach (especially the northern part), but Kobe Bryant, NBA star, lives in Newport Beach. Check out rent.com, apartments.com, and craigslist.org for comparison prices. I'm guessing NB is at least twice as much as LB. Good luck!

newport beach is obviously better... but expensive too... newport - lobster long beach - canned tuna which do you prefer? edit: dangit! obviousman just did the comparing between foods and etc. anyways i was thinking to say filet mignon, but tuna and filet mignon arent in the same food department.. lol

depending on how much you are willing to spend. if you have money and want a nice appartment newport beach is yours. It is posh and def fulfills the stereotypes. Long beach is cheaper but you have to be safer there. it does have a reputation

I live in L.A at the Beverly hills hotel and bungalows, and go to long beach every weekend its much nicer and also lots to do and see. And the prices are great too. But also some of the highways to get to long beach are kinda scary. And long beach is really safe but like all places you need to watch out!! And the cost of living seems prity good to me but i prefer my hotel I've been living there for 1 year and wouldn't leave but if i did i would go to long beach for sure!! go on houses for sale in l.a and you will get lots of good results!! Also if your renting put the same thing except put for rent!!!
