  • Answer:

Your first issue is to get permission to immigrate from the nearest U.S. Embassy. The process can take several YEARS once you apply. To work here you will also need a work visa. An American company must sponsor you for that, you can't get one on your own. Listen to what "Chuckles" said. She immigrated here from Canada, and knows the process. You MUST have a job skill that is in short supply in the U.S. and Nursing may qualify, but to actually work here as a Nurse you would have to be certified by the State of California. Get your Nursing license in Ireland first and start working there to get experience, then apply to American hospitals for a chance for sponsorship. They usually only sponsor medical professionals with advanced degrees, but you may get lucky. Living in Los Angeles is completely different than what you see portrayed on stupid television programs. Forget about where Michael Jackson lived. If you get permission to immigrate, and qualify for sponsorship you would probably want to live near the hospital you will be working at. Commuting in L.A. is a real nightmare. Good luck, and start saving as much money as you can if you want this to happen.

You have a long way to go.

Ugh. Another celebrity chaser. OK, here's the deal. First of all, you need to work out your visa issues. Then contact us in 4 years when you've graduated and gotten your visa. Next, you have this crazy idea you can live in Bel Air. Sure, if you have about 3 or 4 million dollars (US) lying around. What you don't realize is that A-list celebs like Jackson live in VERY exclusive areas, that only the ultra-rich can afford. When you move here, you move into a place you can afford. Right now, rent for a decent 1 BR apartment (flat) is going for $1200 US. Who knows how much it will be in 4 years. Your question is rather silly, to be honest. It would be the same as me asking if I could get a (cheap) place next to Buckingham Palace, and if I could just pop over and see Harry and William and maybe borrow a cup of sugar.

Obviousman

You'll need a degree and YEARS of experience before you can get a visa.

I personally don't like LA. It's pretty grimy. I like northern California better. But Michael Jackson didn't live in LA most of the time; he lived a bit north up the coast near Santa Barbara. Celebrities move around a lot, but I guess in Hollywood near the Chinese Theater when there are premieres going on, or in Beverly Hills, Westwood, or other affluent neighborhoods around LA. A lot live in Malibu too. Unless you have tons of cash, you probably can't afford to rent a house and will have to get an apartment. But I don't know your financial situation. But as for it being a good plan, I don't know. Have you visited it? It takes forever to get around, which is a huge pain, and there's like no public transportation, so it doesn't really feel like an actual city.

You will find that the hard part is getting a visa to allow you to move to the USA. This could be very hard. As a nurse, you will not be able to afford to live anywhere near where MJ lived. Or near anywhere any one chased by pappasatzi lives. And the whereabouts of his kids is a secret. Do note that celebrity sightings are very rare. I have lived in LA now for 8 1/2 years and have seen only one. And this very afternoon, I was out and about on Hollywood Boulevard. But then, Hollywood is just about the last place you will see celebrities. if you want to move to LA, first get immigration issues sorted out. It is doable for a nurse from Ireland but still very hard.

if your plan is to move here because celebrities, its not going to happen, nor are you gonna see much of the jackson family even if your there neighbors, you need to eat and shop in right places and the areas are very expensive. I can tell you that jacksons family home is in encino, neverland ranch is in los olivos, toward santa barbara, and the house he lived at when he died is off sunset in beverly hills

los angeles is where i live and it's not a very nice city. it's pretty dangerous, ghetto, and theirs thugs and crimes everywhere. southern-eatern L.A. is very dangerousso stay away from there especially compton. the best parts in L.A. are where the celebirties live which is the very expensive area, like burbank and beverly hills. pretty much only rich people live in that area. I would probably recomend you move to Glendale, Westwood, or the San Fernando Valley. they're probably the safest cities in los angeles.
