  • Should i move to california or texas? any recommendations? Which city should i move? which one has more atractions and things to do

  • Answer:

Southern California offers much more in terms of things to do. We have mountains and ocean and all of the activities that go with them. There are also cultural events, museums, just about anything you could want, even in Orange County. You won't have to drive to Los Angeles if you want to see a foreign film because OC has their own art film houses, museums and performing arts centers. If you love the outdoors than Southern California wins. You need to drive 6 hours to get to the coast of Texas from Plano and because they have lax environmental laws the Gulf of Mexico is toxic soup. If you move to Plano you will need to drive into Dallas to get any form of culture. Plano got it's name because the person that originally settled the area thought the Spanish word for 'plain' was plano. It is flat and the land of cookie-cutter homes, chain stores and chain restaurants. Actually Anaheim has the cookie-cutter problem too. Some people have brought up some valid points against CA. The economy is pretty bad. Even though housing prices have decreased it's still expensive to live here. Almost 35-40% higher than the Dallas area. Make sure the company is offering 40% more to live here. Irvine is a very nice town that is close to Anaheim and it's one of the safest places to live in the nation, the schools are also good. Anaheim is in Orange County which is equal with Plano in terms of being conservative. There are churches in Plano that look as large as pro sports venues and just as ugly. Plano can be just as materialistic and fake as any wealthy area here. You need to visit both and see which place you like more. I lived in Dallas for over 30 years (born there) and never liked the place. Now I live 2 blocks from the ocean and I feel like I have found my true home.

If you belong to a religious cult, believe every word in the bible and own an elephant gun, you should move to Texas. If you are not one of these types of people, and you want a city with an awesome hockey team, move to California.

Okay i definatley dont recommend texas. i use to live there. and the weathers horrible. and it gets really boring. I would most definatley recommend California. Its the better of the 2.

As I said before, good luck finding a job in California.

Cali sounds funner

Hey

right now, i would say texas. economically, california is one of the worst states right now, while texas is one of the best. you have a better chance of finding a good job in texas than in california. texas is hotter, but it's also a lot cheaper too. anaheim is kind of nasty too, besides for downtown disney. anaheim has a lot more attractions nearby: the beach, disneyland, knott's berry farm, all the cool shows in buena park. still, unless money/job is not an issue (and for most people it is, and will be if you move to california), then i strongly suggest texas until the economy turns around in a few years.

TEXAS!

Plano is North Dallas. A lot of money is going into that area of Dallas. If you are into shopping and girly things, there are tons of great malls and boutiques out there. The only problem with any area of Dallas no matter where you are, is the unbelievable traffic. The lunch hour is a mad-house!

You move to whichever one where you get a job offer. And right now, there are no jobs in California.

I lived in DFW for a bit. There are quite a few things to do in the area. The homes are much cheaper in Plano vs Anaheim, and the crime rate in Plano was fairly low last I checked. You do have to consider property taxes which are quite high. There are a great deal of tech jobs off of the 75 corridor. As for attractions, there is Six Flags, a water park, lakes, basketball, hockey, museums, and golf. There is a wonderful resort in Grapevine that's equivalent to Opry Mills in Nashville. Fort Worth has a few things to do in the stockyards.
