How much spending money for a week in Majorca?

How much spending money will I need for a week in Vegas?!?

  • Hello! I'm going to Vegas from the 31st of March to the 7th of April and want to know how much spending money I will need. I've gone all out on the flights and hotels (Already paid for) so I want to try and spend as little as I can when I'm there. I'm staying in the Palazzo for four nights and then the Encore for the final three, but I don't intend to do any of my eating or gambling there... maybe just a little though! I'm not a big eater and will probably get by with a McDonalds twice a day, but would like to have a nice meal with my friends a couple of times during our stay. I'm not going to any shows or doing any helecopter flights or anything but wouldn't mind catching an ice hockey game while I'm there. I'm not to worried about gambling a whole lot so I'll probably only stick $20 in the slots a day and maybe play the tables a couple of times at the weekends. We won't be hitting the clubs every night, but might try and go to one of the decent ones at some point over the weekend. Bear in mind that I'm from the UK so I'm not exactly sure what things like taxes, gratuities, cabs and the like will set me back. I don't plan on doing any shopping when I'm there either and I'm happy to buy in some drinks to have in the hotel before we go out to keep costs down. How much I take depends on quite a few things as I have to start saving some money for my impending redundancy! The absolute minimum I'll have to take with me is $700 (Which is probably pushing it a bit!) and the maximum I will have is $2000 but I don't really want to spend that much. Therefore, if anybody could give me a rough idea of how much spending money I will need (Not including gambling) then I'd be very grateful!! Thanks...

  • Answer:

Not sure if your rooms are already paid for but I would say $100 to $200 a day would be enough for one person. Read the FAQ and planning pages of this site for some good tips.

I took $500 for 4 days last Jan and we ate out at restaurants every night! You'll be surprised at how cheap it can be in certain places. Some hotel buffets are cheaper than MacD's! Try the Stratospere Hotel for their dinner buffet, it's around $11 per person and the food is amazing - something for everyone! Walking the strip or taking the bus is cheaper than cabs everywhere and there are some great outlets to shop too. I picked up a leather jacket in the sale for $80!! I reckon $700 will be plenty for you, but maybe take $800 to be on the safe side! RE: gambling - I only played the slots too, $20 per day will be more than enough if that's all you want to do! Have a lovely trip!!

i went to vegas for 3 days and took $500, im from california but moved here from the uk in september. I went for new years, and probably spent most of that, im not that big on gambling just played on the slots, sightseeing, a show and new years party. I would say 100dollars a day would be the minimum for food, getting in places etc. 2000dollars will be more than enough if you dont plan on gambling that much. Also when you go in casinos drinks are free in most places when you sit at the bar and play on the machines. Just leave a nice tip when your ready to leave

You're staying at some pretty high end hotels to try to get away on the cheap. You probably should have booked the stratosphere or circus circus instead. Realistically in Las Vegas you probably should figure on at least $100 dollars per day, so I guess your 700.00 is in the ball park and that's real conservative. Try to keep some back up money in the bank if possible..

I dont understand these questions.. Do you have a atm/debit account you can draw money out of? Thats alot easier then trying to budget for a very unpredictable city. Also, you dont risk carrying all your money around and having an issue with it.

Depends on how much you want to lose

In Vegas you can spend as little or much as you like and could get away with $100 per day but why go and not enjoy yourself and live a little. We took $3000 for 4 days and ate, drank and shopped with lots and lots of gambling and enjoyed every minute. It is really difficult to predict how much someone else will spend in a place like Vegas. Go and enjoy it
