How many casinos are in Las Vegas?

  • I know casinos are basically cash machines but how many more can be built in one area before the competition too high to turn a profit?

    There's too many to count! They're literally everywhere, even by schools.. plus slot machines are in every store, 7-11, movie theater, etc. Profit is not really a problem because each casino always has something different to offer. They all pull in profit because everyone wants to see and gamble in the cool casinos, but can't afford to stay the night there(unless you have thousands of dollars) so they cash in on the cheaper casinos. Plus people go hopping. When you go to the stirip you don't just stop in one casino, you go to every store casino, play slots and grab drinks in every building in sight. Just the fact alone that some have movie theaters, hotels, bowling alleys, shops, museums, broadway, live music, shows that they will all continus to bring in profit from SOME type of person.

I would guess at over 1,000 as there are many smaller ones in the neighborhoods through out the valley. You have to also realize that there are slot machines in grocery stores, convenience stores, gas stations etc. That along with local casinos and the strip along with downtown.

I would have never given any thought to how many casinos are in Vegas, but I know one thing - people will never stop gambling - therefore, I doubt there will be any competition. For all you now, there could be one owner for every ten casinos, more or less. Wish I was in that action!
