There are some great activities to do in Las Vegas with families. I visit there often for family and I have a 7-year old and these are all approved by her! I’ve included some links – I hope you have a great time with your family! Hoover Dam Tour – very cool and historical. Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage – animals are well taken care of and it is a nice facility. Las Vegas Zoo – small and reasonable, not impressive – but it is a destination. Magic Show, like Rick Thomas – geared towards the family and they have 2:00 P.M. shows. There is also a Pet show, but the magic shows are cool. Red Rock Canyon – visit the park, see wild creatures – it’s a nice drive with good scenery. KidsQuest at the Station Casinos – Now this is my high recommendation! KidsQuest is a babysitting facility for all ages with many fun activities. The kids play while the parents get to visit the casino and have a nice, romantic dinner, catch a movie, bowl, or gamble. Family time is great, but sometimes a break from all that togetherness is beneficial for all! Reasonable rates too. HOTEL RATES ARE RESONABLE AS WELL. The Pool – spend the day in the hotel’s pool. Most of the hotels have outstanding pools. Star Trek: The Experience – Okay, I’m a trekky and this is a great ride/adventure. You actually get beamed aboard the Enterprise! You can even eat at the Star Trek restaurant. It’s in the Las Vegas Hilton on Paradise Rd. I believe the MGM has an amusement park too, but I haven’t gone.

You can stay at the Treasure Island hotel. They have a really neat "pirate" show outside every night. Check with the hotel concierge, they have a really neat trip to the Hoover Dam the kids would really enjoy & it's educational. Have a great time!!!

I would stay in Henderson at Sunset Station or Green Valley Ranch. Sunset Station is off the 95 and Green Valley is off the 215. Either one would be good, shopping and restaurants are very close by (within walking distance) and are close enough to the strip AND on the way to the Grand Canyon. There's also your regular motel/hotels in both of the areas that don't have the slots & craziness as some of the casino resorts. On St. Rose Pkwy (aka 146) there's several that are new...I probably wouldn't stay at any of the motel/hotels along Boulder Highway though as the access to/from in my opinion is awful (wheras St. Rose is a bit easier). You can easily drive to Zion/Bryce parks in Utah, the Grand Canyon (if you go check out the new walk that opened) and of course Hoover Dam on your way to the GC. Many of the travel sites, like aaa.com, travelocity can give you better details on rates/lodging for the area.

circus circus hotel for kids!

I can't give you advice on the grand canyon-never been there, but been to vegas alot and took our 8yr old this time in March. Circus Circus is kindof the kids playground in vegas- it has circus shows as well as rides and midway games and it is a hotel. Other hotels in vegas have a 'family attraction' show outside of the hotel, such as the pirate show at Treasure Island and the fountains outside the Bellagio, but nothing is geared to kids like Circus Circus. We stay in the downtown part of LV, away from the strip, at the Golden Nugget (great pool area!! rent a cabana for the day and enjoy the enclosed shark tank in the middle of the pool!) The downtown area gets a bad rap for being outdated, but I would rather stay there with kids; it's not crazy like the strip is... Its cleaner and quieter.
