What is the range of income for a Las Vegas Dancer?

What kind of income should I expect working in Las Vegas?

  • I am relocating to Las Vegas within the next 6 months and I am very interested in working in a casino in Las Vegas. I will go to a casino dealers school and learn atleast 2 games. I am most interseted in dealing Blackjack & Roulette. I plan on taking the courses and getting my certificate. Approximately once I am hired full time approximately how much can I make, I realize that each year will be different. I just want to get some idea. I would like to hear from some casino dealers. Thank you. Any info will be helpful.

  • Answer:

After you graduate you have to do several 4 hour plus free dealing trials. But there are very few jobs these days. Most dealers aget $45 a shift plus they split any tips, down for recession.

Unless you know someone, you will start at a mid level to bottom casino (Imperial Palace, Palace Station, one of the downtown hotels, etc.) Remember, you are coming in in a VERY bad economic city right now, and behind dealers who have more experience than you, know people, etc. Just because you go to dealer school doesnt mean you will get a bangin' *** table or shift at a major hotel. BUT, it's all about tips, too. (And remember, majority of dealers have to pool their tips!!!)) You could be at not the greatest hotel, but if you are at a winning table, you never know what is thrown your way. BUT, it is pooled.
