Could I Get a Job in a Las Vegas Casino as a Croupier is it hard?

  • Could I Get a Job in a Las Vegas Casino as a Croupier is it hard? Ok, I just thought i'd ask everyone if it is hard to get a job in vegas as a Croupier. you see i'm currently a full licensed and trained Croupier in England and Work for One of the top Groups. I plan to try and make the move some point in 2012, as i love america and figure that my foot in the door. by 2012 i will have been dealing somewhere in between 18 months to 2 years. I was wondering if any other dealers had done this or knew of any info or anyone in the trade or not? all info if appreciated. :D

For jobs like that, people normally attend a special training school and then get a job at a small off-strip locals casino like Arizona Charlie's or Jokers Wild. As they gain experience they work their way up to larger casinos and higher salaries. Someone like you with experience would probably be able to start somewhere in the middle, like the Golden Gate on Fremont Street or Slots A Fun on the strip. I don't know, I'm just guessing. But, the most important thing, is that it's really hard to get any kind of job in Las Vegas right now. The economy is very very bad. I would not move there unless you already have enough money to survive for at least three years.
