Do we have to buy advanced tickets in order to get the best seats to Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas?
-
I am a fan of Cirque du Soleil. Since Cirque du Soleil has HOME/RESIDENTIAL STAGES in Las Vegas and have performances each night, I assume that tickets won't be sold out each night. However, with the number of internationl tourists coming to Las Vegas this May, the demand for production shows could be high. I plan to watch all five (5) Cirque du Soleil shows in the week of May 10 - May 16. Should I buy advance tix or buy tix at the box office at time of the show? My friends told me that I could get best seat tickets at half price 30 minutes before the show as there are great chances that those who buy advanced tickets do not show up and they want to sell out tickets of the shows. Tell me what I should do. I really want to get the best seats in the house to get the best view of the performers.

"O" is a tough ticket to get. So that's one you should definitely buy in advance. Check with the Bellagio if they offer their guests any preferential seating or packages. Call each hotel or check each hotel's website for deals on their Cirque shows. (e.g. MGM offers its guests a 30% discount for certain weekday shows of Ka, the Wynn offers a AAA discount for Le Reve & has some other promo codes.) Also - sign up for e-mail notices for promotional rates & packages from each hotel that interests you. This is my favorite site for checking for promo codes: http://www.smartervegas.com/ Tix4Tonight offers discount tickets for shows that day. The list of available shows is posted at 10:30 am & the box office opens at 11 am. Here's the link to their site for more information: http://www.tix4tonight.com/ This is handy for any show that you might not get tickets for or for any show you're willing to "risk." Your friend's suggestion for checking w/ the box office is a good one too. Also you can buy tickets through Cirque du Soleil's official website: http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/CirqueDuSoleil/en/default.htm# Join their e-mail/fan club to get promotion notices & see if they offer any package deals. Sometimes fan club members get preferential treatment.

If any particular show is an important part of your vacation in Vegas always buy your tickets before you go. Many top shows are not available once you get there. Remember, this is a gambling town and the hotels reserve large blocks of the best seats for high roller comps. All five Cirque shows especially "O" and Ka are very hard to get tickets for. The theaters often offer the unused comp seats for sale with no discount 30 minutes after the show starts. Sometimes you can see people lined up in the Bellagio for over an hour just for the chance to buy a ticket. You will do well to arrive in Vegas with tickets in hand for Cirque shows. The half price tickets the day of the show rarely feature the top shows. Do not assume the shows will not be sold out. The theaters are not open seven days a week. There is no show "dark" on slow nights. This city gets something like 30 million visitors per year from all over the world. If you think they cannot fill a theater every night, well you could easily be disappointed if you come expecting to find tickets. *

definetey buy your tickets before yo go unless you plan on having them comped by the casino. Otherwise try http://www.tickex.com they are a ticket site who lists tickets from hundreds of different sellers so you can browse all their inventories and compare their prices, they literally list millions of tickets so you can be sure you will find the ticket you want.

We couldnt get any seats to the Cirque shows last minute. O is sold out 6 months in advance. You can stand by outside the place, if you're lucky. There are Half Price Ticket booths @ Hawaiian Marketplace, & by the giant Coke Bottle near MGM, but there were no Cirque shows listed whenever I checked.

I wanted to make sure I got good seats for "O" last time I was in Vegas and ordered ahead of time online. I didn't want to take a chance in not getting good seats, or seats period for that matter. I would def buy online or at the box office as far in advance as seems reasonalbe to you, like the same time you make your hotel reservations. Enjoy!!

If you want to guarantee you see each show, you'd better buy the tickets ahead because you cannot count of someone selling back their tickets. At least for Mystere, all seats are good since that is the only one I have seen and loved it.

Definetely buy the tickets in advance. I'm poor so I always get the cheapest tickets, but I paid a bunch of money to see O because all the cheap tickets were sold out. I already bought my Criss Angel Believe tickets months in advance, just to be safe.
