What are the best hotels in las vegas to stay at?
-
I am turning 21 and am planning a trip to Vegas. What would be the best hotel to stay at from the perspective of a 21 year old male. I am talking about the best location to strip clubs, dance clubs, casinos and othe entertainment. Most likely it would be four of us in one hotel room. I saw that the mgm grand is about $160 a night and based on that I would be willing to pay up to $500 for a three night stay and possibly a little more. You only turn 21 once so I would like to stay on the strip. As far as hotel preference goes, on the strip, is nice, and has good drink specials for gamblers and would have cheap food rates since a lot of my money will go towards alcohol and my hotel.

The Stratosphere used to attract a lot of younger people because it's cheap. However, it's at the extreme end of the strip which makes it a bit inconvenient to get to other hotels. The Palms is a bit off-strip, but right next to the Rio. Both attract a young crowd and it's only a $10 cab ride to the strip. Most strip clubs are located in the downtown area, I believe, so you might want to check out the hotels on Freemont Street. www.goingtovegas.com has diagrams of the strip and Freemont Street to give you an idea of where things are situated. I worked front desk and we never charged more for the 3rd and 4th person. We just charged the regular rate. I would recommend staying at either Caesar's Palace, Bellagio, Paris, or Planet Hollywood. Those are all nice and in the center of everything you need. Good luck

Keep in mind that the rates you saw online were probably double occupancy rates, unless you also entered into the search that there would be 4 in one room. You are charged more for the 3rd and 4th people in a room. Drink specials don't really exist in Vegas. You can get free drinks in the casino while gambling, but you have to tip at least $1 a drink, and you're probably losing money at the games, so it's not really free then :) Drinks in the bars and clubs are extremely expensive. There are a few places on the strip - O'Sheas is one - where you can get cheap beer and frozen drinks. But generally you are going to pay pretty big for drinks. Same for clubs - they are expensive to get in, and very expensive to drink in. Nearly all of the hotels have food courts and/or fast food, which is about the cheapest food you'll find. There is a Denny's on the strip near Harrah's too. But food in Vegas tends to be moderate to expensive in terms of price. The strip hotels all have a buffet of some sort, but those aren't usually that cheap either. I would consider these hotels: MGM Planet Hollywood Luxor Mirage Treasure Island

All casinos have free drinks for active gamblers, slots and tables. And you can go to any club regardless which hotel you choose, but know clubbing is very, very expensive. Pick the best room deal. You won't spend that much time in the room. MGM is very nice and easy access of six other casinos and walking distance to Aria at City Center. And you can take a free tram from Monte Carlo to Mirage
