Vegas for my 21st birthday?

Las Vegas 21st Birthday/New Years?

  • I am planning a trip to Vegas for my 21st birthday which is on January 4th, 2012. I will be arriving in Vegas on December 31st (so I will be there for the New Year as well) and leaving on January 4th. I was hoping for suggestions on fun shows, clubs, bars, hotels recommendations, or any other fun things to do for the New Year and my 21st. Thank you :)

Leaving on your birthday doesn't sound like such a good idea. You won't be able to get into any bars or clubs until midnight on Jan 4 - so the night before you leave. Same deal for gambling - you can't legally gamble until you're 21. You're not going to have even a day to enjoy all of the things that make Vegas fun for a 21st birthday. They are very strict there - ID's are always checked, they are experts at spotting the fakes, and they make no exceptions. You might want to consider changing your dates a bit so that you can really enjoy yourself. That being said... If you do hit a club that one night, I'd suggest Pure at Caesars or Tao at Venetian. Fun bars are Carnaval Court at Harrah's, Rockhouse at Imperial Palace, Toby Keith's Bar & Grill at Harrah's, and Coyote Ugly at NYNY. Hotels - Planet Hollywood is a fun hotel for young crowd, and the rates are usually pretty good. It's hard to recommend without knowing your budget - Venetian is great and the rooms are all suites, and Flamingo is a nice place with reasonable rates in a great location. I also like Caesars a lot. Keep in mind that all strip hotels (excpet Riviera) require that you be 21 to check in. You won't be 21 when you check in, so make sure that someone in your room is or you'll be denied. They check ID for that too. Shows - Cirque du Soleil shows are all great; my favorites are O and Mystere. Check out Penn & Teller or David Copperfield (if he's doing a show then) for magic shows. Blue Man Group is fun, and Phantom is a great version of Broadway's Phantom of the Opera. Other - head to Fremont Street one night, enjoy some shopping, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum is better than it sounds...

You want be getting into any clubs or bars and you want be allowed to gamble until your birthday. They are very strict about checking ID. You can take in a few shows and do some shopping. It will be too cold to hang out by the pool.

Las Vegas is the best city to visit. When I went there I stayed at Ballys hotel. I say the best hotel is MGM Hotel. http://www.vegas.com/attractions/ will help.
