What should I pack for a 5-day vacation?

What should I pack for a 4 night, 5 day vacation?

  • My girlfriends and I are going July 26-31, so its going to be hotter obviously. So BESIDES CLOTHES AND OBVIOUS needs, is their anything you guys suggest? Also, should I bring cash or use my credit card or my debit card? (we will probably be drunk everynight and are planning to hit up some fun bars and clubs. After all, we always said we would come to Las Vegas again when we turned 21!)

  • Answer:

Well, when my friends and I go out there (at least twice a year) we always take a bottle of Alcohol each, just to get that buzz going in the room. The drinks are ASTRONOMICALLY priced at the bars/clubs, and sometimes the 'free' drinks you can get from the cocktail waitresses in the casinos are few and far between - not enough to work up anything. And even though they have liquor stores in some of the hotels, those bottles are priced at about 2-3 times what you'd pay at your own neighborhood liquor store. Seriously, we consider packing our bottles just as important as packing a good pair of panties lol...just make sure you wrap the bottle in a plastic bag and surround it with clothes to ensure it won't shatter. Plus, you can always buy the mixers (if you choose to mix lol) at the little convenience stores. And I would say take cold hard cash...those ATMs charge AT LEAST $5 per withdrawl/transaction.... What we always do is estimate how much cash we'll be using for drinking and gambling, and leave the credit/debit card for the food and misc. expenditures.

I'm getting married on July 8th. I myself have never been there before but my fiance has many times. He's told me that I would be most comfortable in jeans and a tank top. Yea it's gonna be like 120 degrees....but it's all dry heat. I asked him about shorts and he said no way, that it would make it worse. At night is when you can go out in shorts or skirts because it's cooler. (I don't understand it either, but I trust him on this) Most people in Vegas dress like they are made of money. So you will see a lot of fancy looking people. If you want to fit in with them, then dress like them too. If you don't care, dress as you would where you live now. Who cares what others think of you, right? You are there to have a good time with your girls. I would recommend bringing cash. Granted there are ATMS everywhere....but the fees are outrageous. Only use them if you have to. When you go out, only take what you think you will spend....plus an extra $50 just in case. Have a great time.

You need cash for tipping, I take both and I always tip so I need pocket money. Comfortable shoes, don't think you are going to do great with your high heels, bring comfy shoes you will need them, as much as your ride in a taxi, the casinos are huge and walking that much kills your feet. Don't eat at the Excalibur, the best place to eat in Vegas is in the Bellagio, the best food. A small purse, big enough for money and lipstick, don't take big heavy bags it gets annoying, try to avoid taking jewels, over all I don't take too much because if you like to shop, you will have double the luggage on your way back.
