Where is a good place to see the New Year's Eve fireworks in Las Vegas?

One of the best spots w/kids is on Sunset Road - alongside of the airport - & that doesn't cost anything! It's also good because it's far enough away from the strip that traffic isn't a complete nightmare!

i live and vegas and almost all hotels have thier own independent show so i guess it depends on what hotel you like the best. my opinion is to go to the wynn since he is probally goin all out. it also has a really cool resort

If you guys have a room on the strip....like you can see the strip from your room. Stay there...if they did what they did last year...they had a big fireworks display off the tops of some of hotels... When I went last year for New Years...I did the street party , but it was way to packed...so your not missing much

I would stay off the strip and away from downtown! theres about 200.000+ people that are packed onto those two areas and its a nightmare. Especially since you have a 17 y/o, you won't be able to get into any of the clubs or the bars. I would recommend going to Desert Bloom park, its over on Wigwam and Maryland Pkway, and its only a few miles away from the strip. It's got a killer view of the strip from the parking lot, and its pretty easy to get there. If you're on the strip, take it south, and make a left on Sunset, and take it to Eastern, and make a right onto Eastern, You take Eastern south, to Wigwam, make a right and go straight until you hit Maryland Parkway and its right on the corner. If you are stuck on the strip, get outside the area, the top of the parking garage at ellis island will be a good spot, or follow the crowd of locals and head to the airport parking garage.

if you are directly on the strip, you won't see the whole effect, so try and get away from the strip, so you can see the whole thing.
