What are some places I must go and things I must do in france?

We are going to Las Vegas in June. Can you suggest any good places to eat, fun things to do or places to go?

  • My husband and I are going to Las Vegas in June. I haven't been in nine years and my husband has never been. We have been married for almost four years and have never had a honeymoon, so I guess this will kind of be that for us. We are going for 6 days and 5 nights. My husband doesn't gamble at all, and I am not a big gambler either. I may waste $20 or $30 but that's it! We are staying at the Excalibur Hotel on the strip, and are planning to take some bus tours and possibly one of their local cruises. We are really not into night clubs anymore, but would like to go to one just to have something to do. We also may go see a show or two. Can you suggest any good places to eat, fun things to do or places to go? I am 30 and my husband is 29. It's going to be just to the two of us.

When I'm in LV with my wife (we're also around 30) we actually spend a lot of time just walking through the casino-hotels, especially the huge, mega-resorts like the Venetian, the Bellagio, and the Wynn. There's a ton to see, some stuff is ridiculously over-the-top and some stuff is super-impressive (The Bellagio's conservatory & botanical garden impresses me every time). The view from the VooDoo Lounge at the Rio, and Ghostbar at the Palms, are quite impressive at night. In June, the evenings should be nice. Go on a week night and they probably won't be as busy as they can get on weekends. We went to Ghostbar on a Wednesday night last time and there was no line, paid the cover and went right into the elevator. People having a good time, dancing and what not, but you could walk through, out to the deck, with no problem. Grab a drink (they're not cheap, but they're not at ANY of the clubs) and chill for a while. Other than these type of places, night clubs are not for average folk. They're for scene-sters, singles on the prowel, and people with too much money, in my opinion. As a married man that values his hard-earned dough, I can say there are better places to go. Just a couple of thoughts..

The Excalibur was a great hotel for us. It's absolutly worth the $20 upgrade option for a fully renovated, quiet room with a granite bathroom, new furniture and bedding, thick towels and very comfortable beds. There was an in-room safe, but no fridge or mini bar. My daughter loved the iHome clock radio, and my son loved the 42' plasma TV. There were 4 swimming pools, but the pool with the waterfall and the slides were only open on the weekend. The arcade was a bit tired, but they loved the virtual rides. FOOD-The only dining that we did at Excalibur was the “Tournament of Kings” Medieval dinner jousting show. If want an excellent burger, be sure to go to Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay. Wolfgang Puck’s Trattoria Del Lupo @ Mandalay Bay was a disappointment-great service but way overpriced for what was offered. For the same price, Mesa Grill @Ceasar’s was a far better meal, or have an amazing meal at Daniel Boulud Brasserie @Wynn or Aureole @Mandalay Bay. Emeril's Delmonico's @Venitian was a great lunch. The buffet @ Rio Hotel was far better than the buffet @ Treasure Island. FREE THINGS TO DO Habitat at the Flamingo, Lions at MGM, Beautiful flower show at Bellagio, & the Bellagio Fountains, The Sirens show outside of Treasure Island, Circus acts at Circus Circus, the Fremont laser show, Lake of Dreams at the Wynn, Fall of Atlantis at Ceasars RIDES- You can get 2 for 1 tickets to the NY NY roller coaster if you visit the Adventuredome at Circus Circus at the end of the strip. The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, and Tigers & Dolphins at the Mirage. Thrill rides the top of the Stratosphere, Cyber Speedway & Speed rollercoaster at the Sahara., Luxor’s Imax Theater, King Tut Museum GRAND CANYON- You can pay $150-250 pp for a bus or flight day trip, or rent a car for $30-$50 and take an easy drive to Hoover Dam, and continue another 1h 30min to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon for $60pp. Whether you take a tour or drive yourself, dont miss it. DRIVE YOURSELF-Start out at 8am to be at Hoover Dam when it opens at 9AM. You can look around or take the tour for an hour, but don’t spend too much time. Continue another 1hr 30 min to Grand Canyon West . $20 to park, and continuous busses take you to spots around the Hualapai reservation. The Glass Bridge/Skywalk was incredible. You look through the glass floor to a mile down. And there was a spot that jets into the canyon, where you could climb and be in the "center" of this incredible cravat. There were no long lines or big crowds like the South Rim, and it was beautiful weather compared to the North Rim. And we were back at our hotel by 7pm ***Watch out for AZ speed traps outside the reservation (Pierce Ferry Rd & Diamond Bar Rd); they look for out of state plates and give you a ticket for 5 miles over the speed limit- those vultures even followed us for 20 minutes on our way home, but we knew better. AZ cars whizzed passed us, but they nabbed every CA & NV plate*** From Las Vegas 121 miles-South on US-93 toward Phoenix 32 miles Go over Hoover Dam and continue South on US-93 40 miles/ Left turn (North) on to Pierce Ferry Road 28 miles /Right turn (East) on to Diamond Bar Road (graded road) 21 miles /**Diamond Bar Road will end at the only entrance to Grand Canyon West, which is the Grand Canyon West Airport. COOL SHOWS Blue man-always amazing Any Cirque Sh O' ws. Penn & Teller comedy/magic show at Rio a riot, and they meet the fans after the show. Bodies Exhibition at the Tropicana- really interesting Toxic Audio -really funny singing group Mega Bubble show (little kids) Tournament of Kings Medieval Joust at Excalibur- (good with kids) the show had a lot of action and every seat was a good view..

1. Helicopter ride over the strip. This is done with groups of people, so it isn't as expensive as you think. 2. See a show. Many casinos give free tickets to the matinee performances. 3. Four wheeling in the desert - also done in groups. Talk to the Concierge at the hotel - they will have contact info for all of these type of companies. 4. You will see aweome cars for rent at 1/2 way reasonable prices. Rent a convertable and go for a drive outside of the city. 5. Be sure to go see the water fountain show at The Bellagio. See it during the day and at night - it's awesome. I think it goes off every 30 minutes or maybe every hour. 6. Take a bus downtown and see the laser light show at night under the canopy - awesome!! It's also cheaper to gamble down there, because you win more. lol 7. Ride the roller coaster at New York, New York... it's a super fun one. They also have carnival type games in that same area (upstairs). 8. Play roulette at The Boardwalk (located next to New York, New York). They have 50cent tables and the crowd there is always LOTS of fun. The food at The Country Kitchen at Bally's is better than any place I've been in Vegas.

For breakfast I highly recommend the buffet in Paris. The custom made crepe station is to die for. Huge selection of excellent fare. Dinner buffets Bellagio, Wynn and Planet Hollywood. Fancy dinner Delmonico's in the Venetian. Most memorable fancy dinner the Top of the World restaurant at the top of the Stratosphere. It slowly rotates providing the most spectacular views of Vegas. Reservations only. Best time, just as the sun is setting. Dress Code isCasual Chic - Strictly Enforced. I recommend the three course dinner for two. The Chateaubriand is fantastic! The Service is excellent. *

You should check out the Hoover Dam all the tourist like to go there. You could rent a car and go out there. You should also schedule a trip on one of the fairys in Lake Mead to give you a tour of Lake and you will get to see the dam that way too. They serve dinner and or lunch on that. Depending on how much you can spend, a good place for steak is Joe's Steak Seafood and Snow Crap. that is the best steak there is in the world. If you want nice dinning but less expensive there is this oriental restaraunt inside the Paris, its very good food and you can get a table in this room that over looks the strip. i think it may be called Ah Sin. I think the most we spent there was $30 and that was w/ drinks and an apatizer. There is also this really fun place to gamble its called Slots of Fun, they have one cent/ or one dollar black jack, i can't remember wich either way its very cheap. If you like Buffets go to one outside of the strip like Green Valley Station, or Red Rock (that is the best Buffet ever) or Sunset Stations buffet. FYI if you can help it do NOT go to a buffet on the strip. they charge you an arm and a leg to eat there. if you go to the ones i was telling you they are only $15 a person, and the Red Rock buffet is the best i have ever been to, ive been to allot. they even have sushi and gelato ice cream.
