What are the best activities to do while in NY city?

We are looking for family NY Eve activities with fireworks near Kansas City - HELP!?

Answer:

Usually the area around Union Station has a fireworks display. I think they launch from the Liberty Memorial in Penn Valley Park. The renovated train station has a few NYE celebrations to choose from.
