How to go from syracuse, ny to purdue university in indiana?

im trying to visit purdue univeristy orientation by myself. i have to be at purdue university by 7am. i can either take the plane from syracuse hancock airport to indianapolis. then take the shuttle bus. or take the armtrack from syracuse to lafayette, IN. and take the city bus. i have no idea how long it takes and it doesnt really matter how long its gonna take. i just want to be able to get to the school by 7am safely. i want to go for cheaper option. please help me! how can i do this ?

Why do you have to be in Purdue by 7? That seems a little early... Anyway, you could fly to Indianapolis, then take the Lafayette Limo to Purdue. It gets to Purdue at 8. Taking the amtrak from NY to Lafayette seems a bit long. You could fly to Chicago, then take the amtrak from there to Lafayette then ride the city bus to Purdue Campus. I dont know what time you would get to Purdue. Another alternative is flying to Chicago then taking the Express Air Coach to Purdue's campus. I don't now how long it takes and whether you would get to Purdue by 7. Check out the Lafayette Limo and Express Air Coach websites to see the schedules. Hope this helps!

Compare prices for flights using sites such as Kayak. And compare the price of going via Indy and taking the limo vs. going through Chicago (O'Hare or Midway) and taking the Express Air Coach. Realize that the Amtrak route goes through Chicago and would take about 24 hours each way. If you want a sleeping compartment, it will cost more. You would have to get there the night before and get a room for the night. Once you add up all the extra costs, the flight may be cheaper. If you don't care how long it takes, you might consider taking a bus all the way. There are student discounts available, but I don't know the details.
