Local Environmental Issues in Houston?

Im a 22 year old girl, just graduated and Im moving to Houston for business issues.. so where should I live?

  • I would like it to be affordable but nice and also where all the action is, I mean close to restaurants and night life.. and at the same time somewhere safe and quiet.. surrounded my people my own age. Im mexican but still fluent with english. if you have a specific apartment complex I'l appreciate it! Thanks!!!

  • Answer:

You're young so you'll either want to be inside the loop (downtown or midtown), the heights, or in the galleria area. If you live in these areas then it doesn't matter where you work, you won't have to deal with too much traffic getting there! I wouldn't suggest the suburbs to you since you want to be in the middle of the action! There are some apartments at I-10 and Studemont that are nice and close to everything, but I don't know the name...just have friends that live there! Good luck and I hope you LOVE Houston as much as I do! ;)

Again, it depends where you will be working. If you are working on the NW side there is no reason to live in Clear Lake. Or if you work downtown then don't live in the Woodlands. People that aren't from Houston don't realize how spread out and HUGE Houston is. My suggestion would be the galleria 9although not cheap) you can find a reasonable apartment (Try apartments on McCue and Richmond but not Uptown Lofts) or apartments around the Bering area. The area is packed with young professionals and you will be more centralized. Anything that is inside the loop will be more expensive. Try www.rent.com www.har.com www.apartmentliving.com

If you are working downtown I would try The Heights, Galleria area, Greenway Plaza area, anywhere around there has really nice places and it's close to work, and night life. If it's in the NW area, try Jones Rd., 1960, 290/Hwy 6, it really depends on where you will be working. Look on citysearch.com that should help. Good luck!

I agree with the first answer. I have lived in Clear Lake my entire life! Try Armand Place Apartments its on Space Center and Bay Area.(well right off those roads) The actual road it is on is Cyberonics Blvd... they are right next to the University of Houston Clear Lake. I love those apartments! They keep the grounds really clean and Ben the maintenance guy is amazing! He always comes over and fixes things right when you need them! The ladies in the office speak fluent Spanish and English. Plus the units are huge! 30 mins from down town, 30 mins to Galveston, 15 mins to Kemah, its a great area.
