Where Is Hurricane Katy?

How bad did katy,texas get hit by hurricane Ike? please somebody!!?

    As others have mentioned, the damage in Katy is rather sporadic. Some areas seem to have very little damage, where as others had quite a but. A lot of the damage was purely from trees being uprooted or branches breaking off. There were several power outages throughout Katy, some power has been restored, but not all. Not everyone lost power, but it seems like the majority did. From what I have seen in my neighborhood and heard from my friends throughout the Katy area, everyone is fine. The Katy area does not flood as much as the Houston area because we sit on slightly higher ground. As far as reaching them by phone... good luck! Cell phones and land lines both are having difficulty - especially in outgoing phones. It is 10:42 pm and I am still having problems reaching people by phone. Although some phone problems may vary by carrier, everyone across the board is having this problem. No worries - I think it is safe to say your friends are okay. They may be hot and tired, but they should be okay! Don't pay too close attention to the news - most of the pictures are coming rom low-lying areas in Houston and of course the coastal communities such as Galveston Island and Texas City. Walmart did have a fire, but from what I understand this was a case of arson.

i live on fry road. all is well, debris from trees and shingles, fences all over the place my walmart (MY WALMART!) burned down???????? Really?

I wouldn't worry too much about them. I live in Houston and evacuated before the storm, so I left all of my family and friends. I have talked to my entire family and most of my friends, who live all over Houston, including Katy. No one was hurt, but they are most likely without power and low water. That is whatever one keeps telling me.

some area's of katy are still without power but most has been restored in the area. The Wal-marton Fry rd and I-10 burned down. Mostly the area had high winds with rain and ended up with down tree limbs, no major flooding in the area that I have found out about. They should be ok.

the part of katy where my family is have their power and water back on, but there is no cable. so they cant see what's going on. no phone except cell phone, and the reception is iffy. my aunt did say that it looked kinda bad outside.

Katy is fine. My husband has a business there and still has lights and no damage. Some people are without lights and some trees are down, roof damage, and a lot of downed fences. Your friends are fine.

hey i live in katy and we decided to ride out the storm we didn't get much damage i live on franz and porter fences are down roofs shingles are in the road and power is out but besides that we are fine. it was worse than i expected but thank god we didn't get it like galveston, pearland, richmond etc...
