What are the environmental issues in Houston?

  • I hope I at least get one answer.... for example in Galveston theres alot of trash in the beach which is harmful for the fishes...

  • Answer:

You have a couple of issues Ex: Smog, Houston has started in the last few years dealing with smog issues due to the refineries, industries and millions of drivers. The Houston Ship Channel is facing an overhaul due to the waters being polluted and same with the area lakes, bayous. This pollution from millions of people living in a relative small eco-system has endangered or wiped out native species.

Houston is a overpopulated city that's dirty. There is alot of liter on the streets, alot of refineries that pollute the air. Because of all the traffic there is alot of smog and carbon monoxide in the air. When you go out to Pasadena and Texas City you can smell the dirty air from all the refineries.

The petroleum refinement places would be my main concerns. They seriously stink when driving anywhere near them.
