What is job offer protocol?

Texans! Would you be willing to apply for a job at this office?

  • I'm planning to open an office for historical and archaeological studies. The place where I plan to establish this office is in the suburbs of Houston, Texas (the cost of living there is lower than the national average). The job will also need translators and computer program designers; along with security personnel. For the desk jobs, I've made these rules: 1- Working days are 4 per week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday are weekends). 2- Working hours are from 9 AM till 4 PM. The Lunch Hour is from 12 PM till 1 PM. 3- The salary shall depend on the empolyee's personal experience PLUS his/her efficiency at work; provided it is very reasonable compared to similar offices in the USA. 4- An "Employee of the Month" award shall be given to the best employee in office, based on his work (efficiency), presence, and contribution to the progress of the office. Evaluation is to be done by his/her senior PLUS me (the owner and manager). The "Employee of the Month" shall be awarded USD 500 as a bonus. You could win this award an unlimited number of times, if you deserve it. 5- An "Employee of the Year" award shall be given to the best employee in office. You could win this award by getting most points in the working year. Notice that you could win this award without winning the "Employee of the Month" award at all (though this may rarely happen). The value of the award is USD 5,000. 6- The Owner, seniors and the security are not eligible to win "Employee of the Month" or "Employee of the Year" awards. 7- There shall be NO vacations in the first 6 months of employments. You could only take a day/ several days off under acceptable circumstances (like if you're in a hospital, or you're called for jury duty, etc). After 6 months, each employee could apply for 2 weeks vacation. After 1 year or more of employment, a maximum of 30 days of vacation could be applied for; provided that no vacation shall consist of more than 15 consecutive days (including the 6 days of the weekend that are between them). 8- Insurance shall be according to the Texas State Law or Federal Law (i.e. they're guaranteed). 9- All applications shall be viewed in a very fair way (regardless of race, sex, religion), but if you're not an American citizen, then a PR or at least a working VISA are necessary. Illegal immigrants shall NOT be accepted (NOT EVEN FOR A LOWER SALARY). 10- Behavior, etiquette, protocol, etc shall be dictated by the job owner and overseen by the seniors. Please explain whether you think the rules of this job are harsh/ easy/ severe/ injust and please don't forget to say whether such offer(s) would make many people apply or not (to be frank with you, I wish more applicants in order to make a good selection).

  • Answer:
