How to get to Commerce, TX to go to Texas A&M University-Commerce?

  • Hello, I am thinking of going to Texas A&M University--Commerce to get a bachelor's degree, but there is one problem: I don't know how exactly to get there. I live in Houston, TX and it's a four hour drive from here. My mom would probably wouldn't handle going there for four hours. I looked by plane and I see that I could fly to Dallas, then it would be an hour drive to Commerce. But I would like to take a taxi because I know I won't have a car when I get there. So my questions are these: What suggestions would you recommend me to get to Commerce, TX and is there any taxi that would take me to Commerce, TX? Please respond. Thank you.

    If you want to go to school in Commerce Tx you are going to need a car or someone to drive you there. There is just no other way. A taxi would be very expensive. In my old job I drove back in forth to Dallas every week from Houston. If you really want to go to this school then there is no reason why your mother could not drive you up there, but of course it would be better if you had you own car.

Commerce is a suburb of San Antonio. EDIT: Forgot that there was also a Commerce northeast of Dallas. Why wouldn't your mother drive four hours? How hard is that, in Texas? Not too bad, really. You're not going to want to fly to Dallas with a semester's worth of clothes and then take a cab for a few hundred bucks. Look for a bus. Worst case, your Mom stays overnight at a local hotel. Unless she's 85 I think she can handle it.
