Beach camping in Texas?

Where can I go camping on Galveston beach?

  • Me and my friends are trying to go camping on the beach in galveston this weekend but I don't know where to go. I don't know if its allowed or not allowed. I know we've spent the night on Crystal beach a couple of times in the car but are there any rules on camping on the beach. We were going to pitch tents and have a camp fire and everything...... Also does anyone know of any fun things to do when camping on the beach? Football Volleyball etc.....

    I used to camp on surfside beach(freeport, tx) all the time but after hurricane ike alot of houses were damaged so crime and stealing went up which resulted in no more camping. I believe we will be aloud to camp soon but who knows. I honestly dont know if you can camp on galveston beach. Try, San Luis Pass. Crystal Beach. Bryan Beach. You can try surfside. Mouth of the Brazos. Hm Lots of spots to try. Just call the county office

Pretty much anywhere you want to. I see tents on all parts of the beach all the time. I don't know about the fire though. You're allowed to have bbq pits, but I don't think you're allowed to have open flame. But, I'd call the park board and ask them just to be sure. You can find their number on www.galveston.com.
