Answer:
It is INTERCONTINENTAL airport, not international. Dude, if you're getting there at midnight, you have two choices. Check into the hotel on property and get some sleep, or read your book. No one gets distracted unless they allow themselves to be.

Check out the airport website and see if anything will be open. If all is closed, take a nap. Bring one of those small pillows. http://www.fly2houston.com/ That's a really long lay over. You can't get rerouted?

they say there is a revolving restaurant with good view there, i dont know if it's at IAH or HOU. better be safe and stay at a cafe in the airport and read the book or watch people going from or to somewhere. there is no 24 hr night clubs in either airport like some international airports in the world.

I guess you're gonna be bored, because Houston has no real life.

I would check into the Airport's hotel & get some sleep or watch movies. Otherwise, bring your laptop & watch movies in the airport.

I would crash at the Airport. You get yourself out in Houston with the traffic as bad as it is you might miss you flight out.

There are plenty of hotels near the airport. One is accessible by the underground tram. The other nearby hotels have shuttles to ferry you to and from the terminal. I'd sleep. 12 hours is a long time to sit in an airport lobby. I don't even know if the terminals allow people overnight unless the planes are behind and people are stranded. You need to check into that detail before planning to hang around overnight.I guess you could stay in a terminal, but it would be rather creepy to have to sleep on top of your luggage so it will be there when you wake up. I wouldn't want to try it. You can email them and ask about accomodations for long layovers. http://www.airport-houston.com/ContactUs.cfm Additionally: I don't know if you would have to worry about being distracted from your book. You might be the only person around that time of night. Make sure you have a small pillow and throw with you. Or a coat would work as well.
