What's the cheapest way to ship Boxes from NY to CA?

Moving from northen NY to Texas we only have 20 boxes of clothes, toys, book what is the cheapest way to do ?

    In this case a U-haul type trailer will be the best thing. If you have AAA you can get a discount from Ryder. Whatever company you use making the reservations on line is the cheapest way to get the trailer. Good luck and welcome to Texas. Check with ABF trucking. They will sell you space on their trucks and all you do is load and unload. They will bring it to you.

Depending on what you are driving, rent the U-haul travel trailer that attaches to your car. OF NOTE: If you do go the trailer/hitch route, take the long way down (I-81 to I-476 to I-95 to I-10). You'd be smart to avoid the Appalachian mountain chain if you are hauling a trailer. If you are in the Adirondacks or Catskills, you might have problems with a trailer on some of the road grades because those little trailers generally do NOT have brakes and any sudden stop will jackknife the car/trailer. Your other option? Contact a moving company. It'll take more time, but be cheaper than the post office. Before I forget, "GIG 'EM!"

i dont know how big your boxes are. either you drive your car with a Uhaul or Budget box behind your car, OR, you drive a Uhaul or Budget truck with your car on the trailer behind the truck. see which one is cheaper, the gas price in Houston is 1.69/gallon. budget has newer trucks and the rental is cheaper. look for coupon online, i did, and save 200 bucks.
