  • Answer:

Incorrect. A radiologist is a doctor. For any type of doctor, you get a bachelor degree + 4 years of medical school. You then specialize (in this case, radiology) in your residency. Radiography programs are for rad techs - the people who perform the exams, not the ones who interpret them. Do you want to be a doctor or a tech?

Try looking up a list of the colleges in Houston, go to their web sites and see what programs they offer. If none of them do, and I would think a big city like Houston would have a medical college with that program, then google Radiology Texas and find other colleges. I can tell you that Southwest Medical in Dallas has a program. I can also tell you you need to develop some initiative and do your own work, beginning with choosing a college program. Medical school is tough and competitive.

Not a travel question, but.... Almost any teaching hospital will have a residency program in radiology. Just a tip: If you plan on getting into med school, you're going to need much better writing skills than those evinced in this question. Also, unless you can ace O-chem, you're going to have a hard time getting into med school [it's a weeding out course]. The website aamc.org may be helpful to you. And, you might want to look for "Medical School Admission Requirements" at your library. In order to get into a good radiology residency, you're going to need to do very well in med school. And, where you get placed will depend, too, on your interviews. In your fourth year, you'll take part in the NIRMP, in which you'll be "matched" with the program highest on your list that also accepted you.
