How do I become more social as a Homeschooled Teen in Houston Tx?

I'm homeschooled and I've been wanting to be more social. I live in Houston Texas and I'm having some trouble with finding a group of teens to hang out with. I'm new to houston and I don't know where to start making friends. I live in the northwest area of houston. Does anyone have any suggestions of things I could get involved in here? Does anyone know of any good homeschool or teen groups?

Third: try a youth group at a local church, may not get you in touch with fellow home schoolers but still a great way to get out there (I met my future wife at a place like this.)
