Which is better way to experience Hawaii?

Planning my first trip to Hawaii..any advice?

  • Hello:) Thanks for checking out my question. 3 friends of mine and I are planning our first trip to Hawaii. Since we've all wanted to go for a really long time and have saved up a really good chunk of money(and still saving), we decided that our first trip we wanted to do just right! However, where to start? We kind've want to get a feel for Hawaii first and experience as much as possible..so that way, in the future when we do another trip we know where we want to go..Here are some of the questions I need help with and ANY advice anybody can help me out with I would be GREATLY appreciative: -What time of year is best to go? -What is the best Island to visit? -Should we visit more than one island?? -Where are the best places for nightlife and dining? -Where are the best places for sightseeing? -Where are the best beaches? -Where are the most secluded places?? Ive noticed its harder to plan a trip to Hawaii than anywhere in the US.. I'm trying to dig up as much information as possible... any help I can receive would truely make my day:) thanks! have a great day!

  • Answer:

What time of year is best to go? -Summer months, June is best. If you want a little cooler weather, than August/Sept. What is the best island to visit? -Oahu is excellent for the young crowd. Best of both the city and country, with nightlife, shopping, etc. Should we visit more than one island? -If the trip is more than a week, yes. Island hopping takes time out of a vacation (plane rides, getting to the airport, waiting around) so it's best to stay on one island if the trip is only for a few days. Where are the best places for nightlife and dining? -This will be on Oahu. Nightlife is prominent in Waikiki and some parts of Honolulu. Dining is great anywhere on the island. Where are the best places for sightseeing? -Oahu has the most things to do see and do, but each island has it's fair shair of sightseeing. Where are the best beaches? -Oahu. North Shore is home to the famous Pipeline and Sunset. Waimea Bay. Shark's Cove. Lanikai in Kailua. Hanauma Bay. Where are the most secluded places? -To find these spots you'll have to go to Kauai, Big Island, or Maui, as these two islands are very laid back and don't have too big of a population as Oahu.

Other answers

-best time: summer if you like really hot sunny weather and busy tourist areas. Autumn is hot, (probably the worst time to come) Spring if you like rainy weather. Winter ,depending where, will be sunny or rainy. -best island: Oahu if you like to do typical tourist activities + night life. Maui if you like less city-themed tourism. Kauaii if you like nature. Big island if you like all of the above but to lesser extremes i guess.. -nightlife dining: Oahu -sightseeing: maui or big island -beaches: pretty but crowded = oahu-maui, not pretty but not crowded = big island. -most secluded: molokai, then kauaii, then big island, then maui then oahu.
