Where is Turtle Bay?

How are the rooms at Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu?

  • My fiancee was on Wheel of Fortune and won a trip to Turtle Bay Resort in May for one week. We are going to use the trip as a honeymoon and the company in charge of arranging everything sent us a packet saying we would be in an "Oceanview Deluxe Room". I went to their website to see what the room would look like but the only rooms they showed were "Oceanview" or the suites/beach cottages. Anybody stay at Turtle Bay who could offer insight into the different types of room?

  • Answer:

Ocean view = you can see the ocean from your room, but it may be only a glimpse. Ocean front = directly out your window or lanai is the ocean. If there are no ocean view rooms, you will probably be bumped up to ocean front. It's been close to 20 years since I stayed at Turtle Bay. The hotel has been renovated since then, but back then the rooms were nice enough, but nothing special. I am sure our room was not deluxe, however. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage & hope you have a wonderful honeymoon.

Have been to the resort but only on a day trip. Obviously Oceanview Deluxe will be a step up, possibly on a higher floor. Be sure and tell them you are newlyweds when you check in, often there will be added perks like a wonderful massage in one of the open air cabanas, that would be great!
