Where is Maui, or is it Mawi? I think there is a Maui Beach in Hawaii, is Mawi the same place?

Maui is one of the major Hawaiian islands. It's supposed to be awesome. I've never heard of Mawi... the only other place I can think of that sounds like that (other than Maui) is Malawi. It's a small southeastern African nation. I wouldn't consider it a lovely place.

Maui is an island in Hawaii. Hawaii is a group of islands about 3000 miles or so west (about 5 hours on a plane) from the west coast of the continental United States. Hawaii is one of the 50 United States. I grew up in Maui and it is a beautiful island. It is a lovely place! There is a saying in Hawaii "Maui no ka oi" which means Maui is the best. It is a wonderful island because it has a little of everything you could want in an island. There is lush rain forest and waterfalls, hot beaches, cool upcountry (elevated are on the side of the volcano -Haleakala- that has not erupted in more than 200 years), humpback whales jumping can be seen from beaches. There is too much beauty to possibly try to explain in my short answer. You should definitely go to experience it for yourself one day- you will love it.
