Is it hard to find entry level jobs in honolulu hawaii?

not really, jobs are everywhere here...the question is whether you want to work them or not. I think it's very easy to afford living here, you just will have to have a room mate, and live without a lot of things you would have on the mainland--so yeah, you start low, maybe about 7.25/hr (good news, Obama wants to raise the federal minimum wage next year to 9.50) or 8.75/hr, and you work your way up until you're about where I am, where I make enough to afford my own apartment (in a bad area lol but hey it's a place) and stay there :P you'd have jobs within a few weeks of looking, just remember most jobs in Hawaii are pretty low paying.

We are still in severe recession, so there will be few jobs through 2011. After that, you might want to try it. There are jobs in restaurants (helps to have some experience) and retail (if you look OK when you apply). A few months is a realistic timeframe. It's going to be at least $1000 a month, probably more, and you need the same amount for deposit, plus deposits for utilities (I would budget $1500 a month for rent and utilities). If you live in Honolulu you don't need a car as the bus system is excellent. I would save $3000 each at least.
