Where are the best summer waves in Hawaii?

Are there small waves in hawaii (if so where in hawaii are they)?

  • My family is taking me to a vacation in hawaii but i want to go surfing really bad. Im a pretty good surfer but probably not good enough to surf those HUGE tunnels. I will need some semi big waves.

    somedays are better than others. if you listen to the surf station on the radio, it will tell you what places has all the good spots and small wave spots

You will be fine. Those big monster waves are on the north shore in the winter. Most of the year the waves are just fine for non pros. You have to surf Wikiki. It was once the private surf area for the King and a great place to surf.

not in the winter. in the winter they can be thirty or forty feet high, but in the summer, its much calmer. have fun in hawaii :)

This time of year is cool. The waves are of all different sizes on just about any beach you go to. On the windward side of Honolulu where they have surfing championships the waves are larger like you see in the movies or TV.

It will depend in the day, but the North Shore (Waimea Bay) can have small, medium and large waves. It is my favorite beach there, not always crowded like Waikiki beach.
