Best island, best time of year, best location in Hawaii for snorkeling?

• When is the best time of year to visit Hawaii as far as weather is concerned? What the most beautiful island? Where is the best place for snorkeling? Thanks.

  It depends on what your interests are. Hawaii has a lot to offer, from beautiful relaxing beaches to dangerous hiking adventures. My husband and I visited Maui and the Big Island last summer and we are going to Kauai and Oahu this summer. The Big Island was neat because it is part lava desert, part rain forest and part beautiful beaches. It is the largest of the islands and will take you 3-4 days to see the whole thing. Maui is also very nice. There is more night life and commericalization, but only in parts. There are more things to do on Maui than on the Big Island. I have heard that Oahu is L.A. on an island. Very populated and a lot of traffic. The north shore is supposed to be beautiful though :) Kauai is the least populated and the most exotic of the islands. We are planning on doing a lot of adventuring on the island. Hiking, snorkeling, atv tours and a helicopter ride (I've heard that this is the best island for that). We snorkeled on both the Big Island and Maui and both were very good. The clearest water I've ever seen! Consider getting this series of books "The Ultimate Guide to...
