Anyone going to the Red Bull Air Race in Detroit this weekend?

    A great place to watch if you don't have a ticket is near the carousel and new Wheelhouse area (where you can rent bikes). This is a nice little area and there's even a concession stand with some good food. It's righ before where they block off the ticket area near the riverfront. If you need more specific directions, head down Jefferson from downtown, turn right on Chene, and once you get to the end of Chene, will be Chene Park and you will see a big parking lot where you can park. From there, it's only a five minute walk to the carousel area where you can get a very good view. There are also places before where you can stop and get a pretty decent view as well (the lighthouse and big hill) I was down there today and it was a good place to see the course (even though it was cancelled today).

FYI- My husband walked down to the river today to watch the planes. He said after a few minutes he was bored. He said they flew the course then turned around and did it again. I'd find a free spot to check it out. Then grab lunch downtown when you get bored.

we're taking my son to Windsor to see the race I payed 20 and hope it will be fun we went to the air show last year and were hooked it was killer the stunts the men do are fantastic I hope my son enjoys it!!!!

me and my dad will go today, but we will just find a public place. there has to be one somewhere...the river is huge!
