Where should my hotel room be in Philly?

Does anyone know a hotel line where you can be 18 and get the room??

  • My 18th Birthday is coming up and I want to get a room but my parents wont get it for me. So does anyone know a hotel line that lets 18 yr olds get the room or better yet a hotel in Oakland County, MI?? Please and thankyou. I really appreciate your help!

    Each individual hotel sets its own minimum age. Can you be a bit more specific as to where in Oakland County you'd like to stay? I'll check hotels in the area to see what I can find out... For now, you can look here: http://www.resideo.com/us/michigan/ Choose your city, click "Check Availability", fill out the form then submit it. If you see something you like, "Select" the room. The Reservation Policy section will show you the minimum age for booking at that hotel. Most places insist that you have a credit card to guard against people mistreating their rooms. Back in the olden days, when I was in high school, I rented a hotel room and held a party ... the place was jammed, folks were jumping in the pool, running through the lobby, leaving their underwear in the elevator along with the contents of the stomachs ... Folks I didn't know showed up and wrecked the room. It took me 9 months to pay for the damages and that was only because the manager was a good guy. I'd really double-think your plans. If you can guarantee that only your guests will show up, that they won't bring their cousins, their neighbors, they're childhood pals, then go ahead have a party. It will cost you $500 at least and if anyone wrecks anything, it will cost you $10 or $15 thousand dollars. If you want to have an "off the hook" party rent a VFW or American Legion Hall. Hire off-duty cops to man the door and charge admission.

Almost all hotels rent to 18+, but it's at their discretion. The only time I've heard otherwise was when there was some sort of Spring Break sort of thing going on, and you had to be 21 or even 25+ to rent a room. But that certainly wouldn't be the case for Michigan.
