We used to live in Dallas. Couple of things to consider is that the cost of living is higher - you'll have state income tax and car registration is through the roof compared to Texas. In all honesty, the drive is not the most enjoyable to get back to Texas and even though we have family there, we so much rather fly. It's very doable, just torturous to say the least - and that' getting to Dallas. You'll have further getting to Waco. It can be a very, very tough drive in the winter. The weather out on the plains can be very nasty. My suggestion is to come out and visit and take a look around in the area you are thinking about.

Ya colorado is a great place to live. If you do live in boulder. The cost of living is quite expensive here around Boulder. But really cheap in towns like laffayeete and longmont. I dont know how long the drive would take. The weather here is also pretty hot, Sometimes above 90 degres. Job market is really good, There are lots of jobs here in Boulder. Most people have jobs here in Boulder and drive from lafayette or longmont to work. Around 15-20min drive. Its a very safe place to start a family.

Be careful what you wish for.I gets VERY cold in Colorado in the winter.Last week it was like -10 degrees for 2 days! I hate snow! I wish I was in Mexico. But yeah,I guess the cost of living is a little more expensive than in Texas. There are ALOT of new homes being built in Aurora.

Fountain, CO is pretty cheap compared to other places in Colorado. It would take about 13 hours to get from Fountain to Waco. I would suggest Colorado Springs instead of Fountain. It's safer and has better school districts and costs the same to live there. They're only about 20 minutes apart depending on which part of CO springs you live in. Summers usually get pretty hot. Anywhere from 65-90 degrees. Winters are usually cold and they range from 4-50 degrees.

Ummm sorry there is no more vacancies in Colorado. Please choose again. Haha, just kidding Fountain/ Colorado springs isnt to bad, I have been there many many times, small area and guessing that if you move there, you will eventually move to the springs. I dont know Texas but Fountain isn't a very expensive place to live, You will have to mapquest the directions that will tell you how far it is I have never been to Texas. Yea, its pretty safe place, you have the military base right there also. I think you will like it in Colorado. Good luck and drive safe. Great answers guys? You told them about Boulder and Aurora but nothing about Fountain? lol Yes we can actually read and comprehend in Colorado well some of us anyway.
