How to find a secluded cabin to rent?

Anyone know of a good cabin in Estes Park area to rent?

  • My husband and I plan to go up to Colorado from Texas sometime in December and meet our daughter and her husband, who live near Denver, and try to rent a cabin out in the mountains near the Rocky Mountain National Park area. I realize winters are pretty rough in that area but we have a 4-wheel drive Jeep and want to find a small, secluded rental cabin for 2 or 3 nights. We've been around Estes Park and love it there. I'm expected it to cost around $120/night but we would really like to find something cheap, if possible. Anyone got any suggestions?

    Depends on what day in December you are looking for. Forget finding something that cheap around Christmas/ NY Eve week. But here are a few suggestions: http://www.sunshinemtnlodge.com/ That's just south of Estes Park in the Tahosa Valley on Highway 7. Very nice views and out in the wilderness- if you are looking for that sort of thing. Another one to check out is listed here: http://fortcollins.craigslist.org/vac/844290929.html It is located just east of Estes Park and is rather remote. You may need a 4X4 to get to it. You can also call the chamber of commerce. They have a great reservation system that shows all availability in the area for a given time. My uncle is the Mayor of Estes Park. Our family has lived in the area for over 30 years. Good luck and enjoy your stay in the Estes Valley!
