Busking laws or regulations in Denver?

• My friend and I were thinking of doing some street performing on the 16th Street Mall in Denver, Colorado, but I wanted to know, what kind of regulations are there on this? Also, we are both musically inclined and were wondering about performing songs - I assume performing modern copyrighted songs is considered infringement, even in the case of busking, correct? If yes, is it possible to perform older songs that are no longer copyrighted? We are very eager to undertake this but we don't want to get in any trouble lol Thanks for the help

  I would check with the city attorney's office in both Boulder and Denver just to be safe. I know there have been regulations that come and go regarding street performances. I also know that the music associations have become very litigious in recent years with all the "open source" music. Two quick phone calls can probably keep you from an unlikely but unnecessary fine.
