How fast does snow typically melt in Denver?

Is there any snow within 2 to 3 hours driving distance from Denver, Colorado at this time of year?

I am coming up to Denver the last week of September until the first weekend of October and I would LOVE to see some snow. Do any of you know if there is anywhere within 2 to 3 hours driving distance from Denver? Thanks so much!

    Mt Evans is just outside Denver and should be snow covered by then. Generally, only elevations over 8,000 ft. are snow covered before November...but in Colorado, anything is possible at any time. There will probably be snow in the upper elevations of Rocky Mountain National Park...up on Trail Ridge Road... by the 1st of October. I have been up there in June and there was a blizzard. It is about 11/2 hrs from Denver and the park is fantastic.

Last Wednesday it snowed up on Pikes Peak but the next day it melted. Today in Co Springs (60 miles from Denver) it snowed for a little bit here in the city. So I'm sure there will be more snow within the few weeks. Your best bet is to go into the mountains, there are tons of really cool places to go in the high country within 2-3 hours. Depending on where you're coming from (i'm guessing a low elevation since you want to see snow) you probably want to wait a day or so to go up in the mountains, and get acclimated first or you'll feel like crap and have a bad time. OH and drink LOTS of water, when you think you've had enough drink some more especially if you get headaches. Hope this helps.

It's been snowing in Breckenridge all week. We don't have much accumulation, but the fall white dusting is a nice compliment to the aspen trees changing color and the other signs of fall around the county. Breck is only about 1-1/2 hours from Denver, so if you are coming for a visit I definitely recommend making the drive west on I-70. Even if there isn't snow, you'll find plenty to do on Main Street and around town. It snowed today, but that was rare. There is a chance of another snow storm coming in the first week of october. If you drive to Rocky Mountain National Park, which is a beautiful place, there is always snow on Trail Ridge Road, no matter what time of the year it is

You should be able to catch some at Rocky Mountain National Park, and at the places listed by the others. My family goes there and we've got plenty of pictures of us hiking in snow in spring and fall. And we just got some snow today in the mountains/ foothills. I definitely think that it'll stick around at the higher elevations.

It's snowing right now in the mountains. I bet if you head up I70 to Summit county you'll find some this weekend. Rabbitears Pass was covered on Sunday with 1"-3" of snow on the roads.
