Should I move to Chicago or Philadelphia?

Should I move to Denver, CO?

  • Hey everyone I'm in a slight predicament and need some outside feedback. I currently live in Philadelphia, PA and was raised in Chicago, IL. The past four years in Philly I have returned back to school, got my degree in medical, and have started to get bored in Philly. Don't get me wrong I like the city, but I feel the cons outweigh the pros here. Great food, accessibility (D.C./A.C./NYC), weather is mild, and awesome nightlife. The cons I have been having living in this city (which is why I'm debating moving), is in general the people here plain and simple suck. I've never lived in a more aggressive, rude, and obnoxious area. I actually find NYC to be less stressful than Philly. In the four years I have lived here I find it difficult to meet anyone of substance, and finding someone without immense baggage is nearly impossible. One reason I love Chicago is the multi culture, things to do, people, but I hate spending 9 months out of the year is freezing temps. and 2-3 feet of snow. I have taken several trips to Denver and although it has a much smaller city feel I do love the beauty and the people. It seems to me the job market is also one of the most stable in the country. In the next couple months I may have an opportunuity open up that will allow me to make around $10G more/year moving out that way. In whole my question is....has anyone been to/lived in these areas? What are your thoughts on them? It would be great just to get some insight. Ideally I would like to move somewhere that has nice people, decent weather, stable economy, bars/clubs, and a variety of options. Thanks for your help!

  • Answer:

Colorado...anywhere in Colorado. It is gorgeous, there are so many places to go and things to do, you can live there a lifetime and never run out. If you have a good job opportunity, go for it.

I've lived in Colorado my whole life. My family is from Philly so I know what you mean but trust me the people here are way more relaxed. Denver is a great city with plenty to do. We also have a large variety of weather which you would probably like. You won't find as much culture here as in Chicago but it has its pros for sure.

Denver CO, is the best place I have lived, and I have lived in 7 differnt states. The people always smile, and it's the healthiest state in the country also not many fattys there. I lived there for 2 years. It's more liberal but that was ok with me. Hell Norway is very liberal and they are ranked the happiest country in the world. While I was there I was to just graduate high school, I lived in Highlands Ranch in Littleton it is in the suburbs. I liked Denver but Littleton is only like 20 min away. If you live in highlands ranch you pay a small tax and all the rec centers are free, you don't have to worry about stupid contracts with 24 hour fitness and stuff like that. The teachers at my high school were also very nice, will compared to Missouri. They cared about me. I rearended some lady at a stop light in my first car crash, she was not mad at all I was so shocked. She asked me if there was anything that she could do it was completely my fault!! My experiences in Colorado were the best, nothing negative about that state in my opinion. Great place to live!! I think you should move there. hell and 10 grand a month more, you got it made. :)
