IS THERE ANY JOBS HIRING IN DALLAS, TX?

I am an Afr. Amr. planning on moving to Dallas, Tx , is there good jobs? fun entertainment, for all races?

  • I have no family in Dallas, me and a relative are going to take the chance and move because we love TX, especially Dallas. I currently live outside, Nashville, TN. I am 24yrs of age, a college grad who plans on attendeing grad school for speech language pathology. I enjoy the night life but also taking care of buisness. I just fear it because, I dont know it. Please give as much info as possible on the Dallas areas, entertainment, cost of living, racial make-up of Dallas? and anything else?

Stay away from Oakcliff area unless you want to consider paying cheap rent for the sake of risking security. I will say on the out-skirt of Oak Cliff is the Bishop Arts District which is up and coming. Uptown is HOT! Plano is far but nice. Frisco is further out but lovely. Downtown is relaxing but busy. Turtlecreek dr. is rich, elegant, and really peaceful. Lake Hubbard area is lovely and beautiful. University area (SMU) and the Henderson-Knox area off of 75 is also a place to consider residing in. Look into Park Cities as well. Good Luck and Welcome Nightlife is hot in uptown and Henderson-Knox area. It is very chic, trendy, and booming with young professionals and students. All surrounding areas I mentioned are usually for families or people who are brand new home owners such as the Plano, Frisco, and Lake Hubbard areas. Uptown and downtown is more penthouse lofts, condos, high-rises, mid rises, elegant cottage and villa like apartment with modern and trendy styling. Very much like a city within the city.

I always thought fun was fun. I didn't know Afr. Amr.'s had a different kind of fun then us white people. Guess I don't know what to tell ya. I'm not friends with any racists.

Dallas is a diverse city and area. There are lots of fun things for young people. There are several graduate schools in and around Dallas. It is normal to fear new and unknown things and places. The cost of living is about the same as you have in TN. The racial makeup is majority white, about 30% black, 20-30% hispanic, and 5% asian.

Dallas is really big! We would go there for fun because Fort Worth was generally thought of as an "old money" city...everything shuts down early. Basically, you will not have a problem finding a job or a good place to live, and the night life is wonderful...I really miss it. Sorry I don't have more information. You can actually look at the city website for more info on stuff to do, or at the bottom of that wikipedia page...they have a lot of extra links. Racially, it's probably not as diverse as say Houston, but I think Houston has a bigger Asian culture (just from what I experience). To me, Dallas seemed to have an even mix of African Americans and Caucasians so no worries there. You'll have fun...I don't know anyone who didn't. I've even met people here in California who said they loved it.
