Where can I find information on moving to France?

Moving to Grapevine, Texas..where can I find information about rules regarding license/registration/insurance…

  • I am moving from Ohio to Grapevine, can anyone tell me what the general rules are for getting a new license/registration and how the process work? Or a website where I can look over the information for that and maybe other information for people moving to the Dallas area? Also, how does insurance work? I am with Allstate right now. Lastly, as long as I'm asking about all this, wondering about what banks people like. I am with Huntington right now but there are none down there. I've seen Bank of America, Chase, Wachovia, Wells Fargo, Citibank as some of the major ones. Thanks :)

First, welcome to Texas. You'll find folks friendly here. Second, the links should help. The first is a FAQ from the Grapevine city website and includes vehicle registration information. Your current Allstate agent should be able to either hand you off to an agent in Grapevine or alter your policy to fit Texas law him/herself. As for banks, I find that credit unions in the area offer better rates and much better fees. Check out Qualtrust Credit Union. If you live within 10 miles of the branch in Grapevine then you qualify to join. The second link will give you more information. There are other good local banks and credit unions in the area, but I'd stay away from the larger chains myself. Good luck, and howdy. We're glad you're coming to Texas!

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administration/driver_licensing_control/movingtotexas.htm You can contact your current Allstate agent and ask them to transfer your policy to a local agent in Grapevine. Or you can walk into the nearest Allstate agent in Grapevine and ask them to transfer your policy. I prefer local banks over the national chains.

Look on the City of Grapevine web site. It's below. Call your insurance company and tell them you're moving. You'll most likely not keep the same rates. Wells Fargo is a good bank. Look for a bank that is financially sound.
