Anyone in East Texas know of an authentic train that I can ride on?

I want to take my son on a train ride, but Am-track is nothing but a freak fest. Where is a sight seeing train ride in East Texas? I know there used to be one in Palestine, but I think it is closed. Anyone know of one?

Answer:
Yes, it's the Texas State Railroad. We rode it from Rusk to Palestine and had a good time. On display at the terminal there is a locomotive that was restored to pull the Bicentennial Freedom Train in 1976, a business car and a baggage car. The train operates weekends only from March to May, then daily, except Monday & Wednesday until August, and weekends only from August through October. Reservations are recommended. Call 800-442-8951
