Answer:
I totally agree! To me it sounded like some guys went to a dangerous mountain during the worst possible time and were eaten up by nature. That's not tragic, it's dumb. The news is again exploiting this misfortune and is trying to play on our emotions. Want to stay alive? Stay away from dangerous places! Why is anyone surprised by their predicament? AND...how many taxpayer resources are going to this rescue mission? Helicopters, search parties, etc etc! And the more the media shows this story on TV, the more resources get used. What a waste.

WHAT were these guys thinking??? Climb Mt Hood in the middle of a severe winter? Not a wise choice and now their families have to live with that choice...

Are you insensitive or what? You can't just let someone die when there is a possibility of rescuing them regardless of whether or not they should have been there.

lots of people climb in the winter...so maybe you can be kinder and more compassionate and hope and pray that they find these three men alive...and then yell at them to h*ll and back later....

I've never been to mt hood, but being familiar with snowy weather (colorado, upstate new york) and high altitudes (rockies), I think that it is somewhat foolish and selfish. I feel for their families--especially their wives/girlfriends and kids. I hope that no one gets hurt looking for them. Sad to say, but I don't think any of them will make it out alive.
