How to bring a laptop from USA to Portugal?

What do I've 2 do if I want 2 take Dell laptop from India to USA and then want 2 bring 1 more laptop from US?

  • If I take a laptop computer with me while leaving India on H1 visa. Now if I purchase one laptop and bring it to India. Will it be duty free? Will the first laptop (Which has been taken from India) be considered as "Import"? If not, then second laptop (Which was purchased in foreign country) should be duty free. Is it correct?

    I came to the Philippines from the USA and wasn't charged at all for a PC that I simply brought in my bag. As long as it's declared as personal, there won't be a charge. I'd suggest you do as I did and carry it on the plane(s). There should be no problem. My PC happens to be a compact Laptop-like Desktop from Sony. Heavy, but I just packed it and put it on the overhead bin. No problems or extra charges. I travelled from Dallas, to Minnesota, to Tokyo, to Manila, to Davao...and no charges or problems at the security desks or check-in desks... Just don't advertise that you have a PC in the carry-on... you'll be fine... Hope this answer suits you well.

When you take the laptop with you, you have to declare it so as you do not have to pay the custom duty on returning, but where I dont know. In a recent bill passed you can bring one laptop and one mobile without paying any custom. But if it counts your old laptop or not I dont know.
