I'm trying to help a friend find a job in cleveland Ohio.?
-
Okay this girl who I've liked for a while now(But is also content with being friends) needs a job badly. She was suddenly laid off her two main jobs and her mother is no longer willing to support her anymore and if she doesn't manage to find a job in Ohio in the next month she plans on moving to another state with her other family relative. Nothing would make me more sad than to see someone I care about move away never to be heard from or seen again without me at least trying to help her, so I would like to help her find any job that would hire her. Not to mention after five years of working at the same place, this would be a good time for me to look for a day job myself instead of having to work late at night. Problem is I have NO real experience looking for jobs at all....The first job I had I got it out of luck and thanks to a program I was in while I was in high school, and my second current job I got as a result of being at the right place at the right time. I applied, someone quit the day after, and I got an interview and boom. All I did for her so far is hook her up with Yahoo hotjobs and set up a resume for her online.... So not only would I like to hear how easy it is to find a job in Cleveland ohio, I would also like tips on looking for a job, getting an interview passing an interview, and overall simply getting a job. Also what do you think the odds are of me managing to get my friend a job within a one month time span? Kind input would be greatly appreciated....

Answer:
Go to Cleveland.com and look up jobs. You'll find a listings of jobs in our area and a little bit beyond. Call the places you find that you're interested in working for, find out what their procedure is for hiring, if you need to submit a resume, fill out a paper or on line application. Then don't forget to follow up with a phone call a few days after you've put in for a job. Ask to speak to the hiring manager or HR department and see if you can set up an interview. Be yourself at the interview be respectful and dress appropriately. Remember to put in for as many jobs as you can. Also try Area Temps they help people find employment.
