Is there any difference between an RN and a BSN salary?

Anyone tell me cost of living for RN/BSN in Chicago? Salary? Best area in chicago to live?

  • I am getting my BSN/RN and thinking of where I want to settle down after school. I'll have no debt from college-thank God. I'm a single mother (1 son). young, attractive and thinking of settling down in chicago. Anyone tell me what it may be like? I'd like to be near German and/or Dutch culture- as I am that. Any other cities, I'm also open to hearing about.

  • Answer:

Here's a link showing the cost of living in Chicago as well as the median salary range there for a Registered Nurse: http://www.payscale.com/cost-of-living-calculator/Illinois-Chicago/-/Registered-Nurse It looks like housing might be your biggest expense, but the overall cost of living in Chicago is only 11% above the national average. You can use this cost of living calculator to compare the cost of living in your current city with that in Chicago. That will give you a better idea of how your standard of living might change if you decide to move there. To find more accurate salary data for your specific Nurse position - taking factors such as experience, employment setting, etc. into consideration - you can take a free salary survey at PayScale.com. http://www.payscale.com/?src=yahooA Hope that helps, Assistant to Dr. Salary
