Where at in the lakes do carp stay?

What hotel to stay in near Great Lakes Naval training base?

• My man will be graduating from Great Lakes Basic training soon and I wonder which hotel should we (me and his fam) stay at? And will we need to rent a car? If so what is the best website to get a package deal?

  I would get a rental car. Public transportation out in suburbs is sparse and infrequent. There are hotels in Gurnee that might work well for you. The Comfort Inn and Fairfield Inn are near the Gurnee Mills shopping center and restaurants. It's not high-class dining, just your standard chain-type places (Applebee's, TGI Friday's, Outback Steakhouse, etc.). There is also the Key Lime Cove resort which has an indoor water park which your children might enjoy. You could also stay in one of the hotels on Buckley Rd. in Libertyville. The Holiday Inn Express is fairly new and there is a slightly older Days Inn. Fewer nearby dining options, but it is a little closer to Great Lakes. I would avoid the Red Roof Inn even though it is probably the closest.
